A PDP chieftain in Kwara State ,Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje has called on the sons and daughters of Ilorin community and it's environs to shun all forms of political violence and come together for the continued peace and harmony the state is known for.

Alhaji Kawu Baraje made the call while reacting to the fracas that erupted in Ilorin the state capital on Sunday.

According to him, he was really shocked with the kind of violence that happened in Ilorin which he alleged was caused by some people who called themselves sons of Ilorin a community that is known for its harmonious relationship long ago where everybody from all parts of the country run for cover.

Alhaji Baraje lamented that from the situation happening in the past few months, it appesred that the fracas is beyond politics, which has made him to raise this alarm that both young and old men and women, should not to sit down and fold their arms and say this is all about politics.

He recalled that sometimes around sixties where similar situation occurred, in Ilorin, the opposition then still recognized and respect the traditional authority and did not support outsiders to come and cause violence in Ilorin.

The PDP chieftain therefore called on the opposition to recognize and respect the sanctity of the traditional leadership and let there be peace in the city.

Alhaji Kawu Baraje also called on the sons and daughters of Ilorin community to put efforts together not to allow such to happen again.
