Kwara SUBEB appointment under my watch based on merit - Lambe

Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), has reacted to the purported allegation of nepotism and favoritism on the newly released appointment of teachers in the state public primary and junior secondary schools, describing it as malicious.

This is contained in a statement made available by the Board Chairman, Alhaji Abdulkareem Lambe, on Friday.

Lambe stated that the screening of applicants by the SUBEB was transparent and the process climaxed with an aptitude test conducted by the Board which resulted in the enlistment.

"We made the list of the appointment of teachers based on merit.

"So, the purported employment marginalization, nepotism or favoritism of a local government or senatorial district at the expense of another, as claimed in an online medium is malicious and defamatory," he said.

He advised applicants and Kwarans at large to be wary of misleading informations emanating from mischief makers, who are obviously trying to score political point.

He attributed the circulation of the derogatory news to the handiwork of the enemies of the state aimed at defaming the state government and equally mislead unsuspecting applicants or for the purpose of discrediting the Board.

According to the online news, "the recruitment intentionally sidelined all the eligible applicants with qualified merits from a certain local government in the state because of the massive support the community offers for President Buhari's re-election."

The Chairman discarded the erroneous impression by making it known that Kwara is one big family under Saraki leadership and there is no amount of divisive or inciteful news can change the narratives. Stressing that, everything about the recruitment was done with due process giving every Kwarans a sense of belonging irrespective of party affiliation.
