We have become aware of social media claims that Senate President, His Excellency, Dr Bukola Saraki's Mandate Constituency Office on Wednesday procured and issued a letter transferring Mrs Lawal Halimat, Principal of Pakata Primary School A, Ilorin, to Lagiki Primary School, allegedly for criticising the Senate President and the Kwara State Government. These claims are complete falsehood. Mrs Lawal's transfer was a strictly administrative procedure effected by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). It was devoid of any external interference or influence by any organisation or individual.

Dr Saraki's Mandate Constituency Office has no authority over the transfer of school staff. Neither did it seek to exercise any such influence. Issues such as transfers and staff deployment are purely administrative and are the under the remit of SUBEB by law.

It is therefore untrue that Mandate Constituency Office influenced or issued an official transfer letter to Mrs Lawal.

Instead, Mrs Lawal's transfer was undertaken by SUBEB as part of efforts to ensure the smooth running of the school and was done without the involvement, directive or inducement of any third party whatsoever.

The public is as a result of this urged to disregard any contrary information in the social media or on any other medium
