Don't Drag Emir of Ilorin into Politics, He is a Father for all - Ilorin Emirate Youths

Date: 2018-11-25

The attention of Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA) has been drawn to the fallacious, mischievous, blackmailing and criminal publication by one online media outlet 'kwara reporter', titled 'I Will Step Down from the throne if Buhari wins in 2019'.

We wish to use this medium to call on the general public to disregard the publication as it is nothing other than a blackmail which is deliberately targeted towards our highly respected Emir, Alh. (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari.

The initiators of this criminal and false story are the enemies of the Emirate who only wants to use the political atmosphere to convey their long hidden agenda of bringing down the heritage of the Ilorin Emirate.

We wish to state categorically that the fabricated senseless statement did not emanate from the Emir of Ilorin, neither did it emanate from any of the Council Members.

However, we wish to put it on record that the Emir of Ilorin is not an enemy of any politician and he doesn't have any preference among Politicians and their political parties.

Almost all the Gubernatorial Aspirants in the State across all parties had paid an homage to the Emir of Ilorin, to receive his royal blessings, and he never shut his doors on anyone of them.

The Emir of Ilorin is sitting on the throne of his forefathers, and he shall remain on that seat for many years to come in sha Allah, irrespective of who wins or loses come next year's general election.

Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA) therefore call on the law enforcement agencies in the state to swing into action & apprehend the handler of the so-called kwara reporters and make him face the consequences of his mischievous and misleading act.

Signed:

Alh. Abdullahi Babatunde Salau

National President, IEYDA

Alh. Uthman Jagunma

National Publicity Secretary, IEYDA
