The aspiration of the Speaker of Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ali Ahmad, to become the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) received a huge boost Monday, as the Olofa of Offa, Oba Muftau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II, disclosed that he was pleased only with Speaker as the candidate that can ensure peaceful coexistence sustained development of the State.

Oba Muftau Gbadamosi gave the indication in Offa while receiving the Speaker in his palace.

The foremost traditional ruler explained that America and other Western countries became great due to viable successors , pointing out that Nigeria's democracy and Kwara State could become great, if we have successive leaders who are passionate about development of their communities.

Oba Muftau Gbadamosi, who is not known to mince his words, disclosed that Dr Ali Ahmad is the only aspirant that is preferred by the traditional institution in the State, noting that overwhelming majority of stakeholders in the State speak well about him. "Ali Ahmad is in the forefront, no one is even close."

The Oloffa of Offa, who expressed confidence that Offa community's interest and indeed that of Kwara will be better served under the Speaker as governor, said he would have personally purchased nomination form for him, had he failed to do so himself.

He therefore urged all PDP delegates and political gladiators in the state to pick Dr Ali Ahmad as the party guber candidate for the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the State.

Earlier, the Speaker had explained that he was in Oloffa's palace to seek royal blessing, stressing that he would continue to accord traditional institution the respect it deserves.

Similarly, at Erin-Ile in Oyun Local Government Area, the Elerin of Erin-Ile, Oba AbdulGaniyu Ajibola Olusookun, while supporting the candidature of the Speaker, described him as honest and man of integrity, who has the capacity to move the state forward.

The Speaker who was accompanied by serving and former members of the State House of Assembly, former members of the State Executive Council, Chieftains of the party in Kwara South Senatorial District assured him of his loyalty.
