The Africa Baseball and Softball Association Zone 3 have appointed the wife of Kwara Deputy Governor, Felicia Kisira, as its Softball Administrator.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports Kisira's appointment was conveyed in a letter signed by ABSA Zone 3 Director, Albert Frimpong.

Until her new appointment, Kisira was the 2nd Vice President (Softball) of the Nigeria Baseball and Softball Association.

In the letter, the continental body promised to give all the necessary support to Kisira to carry out the new function of zonal administrator effectively.

It said: "The core object of the zone is to provide opportunities to youngsters in developing their talents in the sport through collective effort of major players in achieving the feat.

"ABSA Zone 3 is held in very high esteem by the world and Africa bodies and we hold the key to giving hope to hundreds of youths and children through baseball and softball.

"Voluntary service is almost always very difficult and time consuming, we believe that our new administrator is equal to the task and we promise to give her all the necessary support to excel."

Reacting to the appointment, the NBSA vice president thanked ABSA for the appointment.

She promised to work with Zone 3 board to take the sport to higher level in the sub-region.

He said: "This is a great honour for NBSA and Nigeria. "I have received series of congratulatory messages concerning this appointment and I want to call on all stakeholders to rally round me towards the development of the game in the zone.

"I am also grateful to the Governor of Kwara, Alhaji Abdufatah Ahmed, for his continuous support to the growth of baseball and softball in the country."
