ABS Football Club of Ilorin on Thursday officially unveiled the club's new Technical Adviser, Tunde Sanni, as well as 21 new players.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the ceremony took place inside the main pitch of the Kwara State Stadium Complex in Ilorin.

The ceremony was attended by several top sports personalities in the state.

Sanni, who started his coaching career in 2005, takes charge of ABS FC's campaign this season in the Nigeria National League (NNL), after dropping from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The former coach of Kwara United FC is replacing Ayo Makinwa who was in charge of the club last season.

NAN recalls that ABS FC lost their NPFL status on the last day of the 2016/2017 season when they lost 1-2 to Nasarawa United FC in Lafia.

Speaking during the ceremony, Alloy Chukwuemeka, who is the club's Director of Football, said the club's proprietor, Sen. Bukola Saraki, has mandated the management to return the club to the NPFL.

"The Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has told us to make sure we return to the Premier League this season.

"He has promised to support us in our campaign in the NNL," Chukwuemeka added.

Speaking with newsmen after the ceremony, Sanni said the team was ready for the task ahead in the NNL.

"We are ready for the season. If we are not ready, we won't be doing this today.

"With the support of the players and stakeholders, we will surely achieve our target of returning to the Premier League by God's grace," he said.
