The Kwara chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has called on the state government to redeem its promise to donate a bus to it.

The association made the call in a communique issued after its meeting in Ilorin.

NANS also called for a meeting with Gov.Abdulfatah Ahmed to discuss issues relating to the students' welfare.

It decried the "wide communication gap" existing between the government and students' union leaders in the state, saying that Ahmed had reneged on his pledge to meet with the students' leadership every month.

The association, however, commended the state government for creating a Ministry of Tertiary Education. Besides, NANS pledged to collaborate with security agencies in efforts to tackle the menace of cultism on the campuses.

The communique was signed by Alao Yusuph and Ayandare Bukola, the Chairman and Secretary of the Communique Drafting Committee respectively
