NFF to construct football pitches in 6 states

Kwara State in North Central Nigeria is one of the Six States to benefit in the first phase of the Nigeria Football Federation [NFF] Football House to be built in Ilorin.

Also, two football pitches are to be constructed in each of the six selected states in the country.

?These was part of the decisions reached at the NFF Board meeting held last night in Abuja.

The Chairman of the Kwara State Football Association, Mallam Busari Ishola while speaking with sports writers on the outcome of the meeting said Six States were picked from the six geo-political zones in the Country.

?Mallam Busari Ishola stated that other benefiting States are Bayelsa, Jigawa, Osun, Abia and Borno.

The Chairman disclosed that Construction work on the Football House Project would commence next week and is expected to be completed on or before the end of October this year.

He explained that the benefiting States are expecting to provide the land while the NFF would bear the cost of building and furnishing to standard.

Mallam Busari Ishola noted that the Football House would comprise of the State Football Secretariat, Conference room, Video Centre room amongst others.

The Chairman disclosed that the project would be sited inside the Stadium describing the initiative as a welcome development and well overdue.

He explained that apart from the Football House, two football fields each would also be constructed in the six States.

?Mallam Busari Ishola commended the NFF for taking the bold steps of providing facilities in all the States of the Federation.

?Meanwhile, four teams in Kwara State will be on duty at home this week in the various leagues.

Kwara United currently leading the Northern Conference of the Nigeria National League with twenty six points will host Sokoto United on Saturday while ABS Ilorin FC campaigning in the Nigeria Professional Football League will trade tackle against Sunshine Stars on Sunday.
