Kwara PDP Crisis: Offa factional chair hints at Plan B

Date: 2017-04-20

In a bid to proffer solution to the lingering crisis rocking Kwara State chapter of the People Democratic Party (PDP), the factional chairman of the party in Offa, has reiterated readiness to unveil new plans if the party crisis persists.

This was disclosed yesterday to Pilot Politics in a telephone chat with the factional chairman of the party in Offa local government area, Olumadegun Agboworin.

According to him, his faction has mapped out plans to address the lingering crisis and assured that the proposed plan will be embraced by all when it is unveiled to the general public.

He said the need to device strategies to combat the party's lingering crisis became expedient with the coming of the local government poll in the state.

"From our own end, we have another plan out of the lingering crisis in the party, though we are not meant to disclose it but it is not that we are forming another party as some people have presumed. But when unveiled to the public, everybody will embrace and also key into it," he said.

Agboworin maintained that the forthcoming local government election will not be the usual ball game like before in Offa, adding that the party's candidates are ready to keenly contest and win the election.

He added that rigging of election will not be allowed in his local government again saying the activities of the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWASIEC) will be strictly monitored to avoid rigging.

He said the electorates are already tired of the ruling party and they are already clamouring for change in the political system of the state. He stressed that his party is ready to approach the court in order to challenge the APC government if it failed to conduct the poll this year. He said he's confident of PDP's victory in Offa anytime.

"We are not afraid of APC in Offa, if they think they can rig the election, we won't allow such again. Our victory in the coming poll will be easy and smooth. "Our party programmes are speaking for us because they are rich and enduring, what I personally do on behalf of my party for my community is what a whole government will do and present as project, this shows that our party is on ground and we are always working to ensure that people eat the fruit of democracy," he added.
