I raised initial capital from family, friends - CEO SL venture

One of the youngest entrepreneurs in Ilorin, Kwara State is Abdulfatai Sampsondeen, a 21-year- old Chief Executive Officer of Sam Lakeside (SL) Venture Sampsondeen, a 300 Level Accounting Student of Al-Hikmah University recently established a music and fashion promotion outfit.

Speaking on his venture into the business world, the young entrepreneur said self reliance was the driving force.

According to him, there is limited white collar jobs, hence the need for people to be creative in order to be self reliant to decongest the labour market. He explained that his venture is a combination of fashion, music promotion and artiste management.

He said the company was formerly known as Deenclothing.

"We produce urban wears for both male and female in the society and also have an online platform for selling "he further explained. The CEO said he started the business with N450,000, which was sourced from family members and friends, adding that his dream is to expand the business beyond the state.

He added that the outfit has organised fashion shows and exhibition, where other clothiers had opportunity of showcasing their designs and creativity.

He disclosed that the outfit has in the pipeline a programme,'Talk Music ' an interactive session for musicians, music producers and potential investors, a platform for them to discuss the challenges bedevilling the Music Industry in Kwara and proffer solutions. The CEO also revealed that the venture will feature a food and fashion festival, where restaurant owners will be invited to interface and socialise with each other.

His business initiative, he said is to create a paradigm shift in the fashion industry and to launch Kwara State unto the world map. He, however, solicited support of the state government and non governmental organisations towards his project aimed at projecting the state.
