Newly promoted Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC on Wednesday thrashed Magate Football Academy of Lagos 3-1 in a pre-season friendly.

The visitors opened the scoring two minutes into the game via the spot kick after a Magate attacker was brought down inside the 18 yard box. ABS levelled up just five minutes after the penalty when the Saraki Boys capitalized on a defensive mistake from Magate goalkeeper to make it 1-1.

The 1-1 scoreline ended a fascinating first stanza which saw the Lagosians dominated the first 10 minutes of the encounter. ABS came into the second half with different 11 players with Magate making a few changes too.

The second half of the entertaining encounter saw ABS controlled most of the proceedings with respect to the brilliance display of the visitors. The homers scored the 2nd goal in the 70th minute after a brilliant team work to put the Saraki Boys into the lead.

ABS winger, Abubakar, was brought down inside the 18 yard box when he rounded up a Magate defender who fouled him to give away the penalty. The newly promoted ABS will play Lubcon Football Club on Thursday at the main bowl of the Kwara Stadium Complex.
