Kwara partners Chinese coy on establishment of textile park

The Kwara State Government has signed an agreement with Chinese investors for establishment of Kwara Chetex Park in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.

The Kwara State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed, who disclosed this in Share, Headquarters of Ifelodun Local Government Area, during the launch of Share Education Endowment Fund, said: "A minimum of 3,000 jobs will be created along the Ifelodun, Edu and Patigi local government axis when the textile park becomes operational."

Ahmed said that the sum of N1bn had been made available under the administration's Off Taker Demand Driven Agriculture Scheme for farmers involved in cropping, fish farming and animal husbandry to be provided agricultural inputs.

The governor promised that his administration would ensure even development of the state, saying that "no part of the State will be disadvantaged in terms of infrastructure allocation."

Ahmed said that people's partnership with the state government was crucial for the success of programmes of the government, stressing that without people's contribution and active involvement, prosperity would not be achieved. The National President of Share Patriotic Movement, Mr AbdulFatah Jimoh, in his speech, said that the education endowment fund was meant to check problems faced by Share youths in the education sector.
