Kwara United secures win on road trip
*Coach John Obuh...thumbs up for his players
KUnited FC of Ilorin underscored their determination to return to the Premier League with a 0-1 defeat of Supreme Court FC of Abuja, to make it two wins out of two in the on-going 2015/2016 NNL.
Substitute Segun Alebiosu, who was introduced in the 75th minute for Esobe Chukwudi nodded home at close range from Abubakar Yusuf's cross in the 87th minute, to score the only goal of the crucial encounter.
The two teams gave good account of themselves, with the homers taking the initiative from the first minute, but the experienced Kwara United FC players did well to put situation under control.
Michael Ohanu lost a clear chance for Kwara United FC with only the goalkeeper to beat in the 12th minute.
The mesmerising Supreme Court players took over the midfield, but that was shortlived with the brilliance of Aduquo Philips and Osemeka Onyegbuna, who both combined well with the defence and the attack.
Kwara United FC came into the second half more determined and the pressure increased as the game goes on, especially with the introduction of Oladapo Augustine for Jimoh Ahmed and Chinedu Akovou for Michael Ohanu.
Alebiosu also came in later to add value to the attack and got the needed decider just 12 minutes after his introduction.
Coach John Sam Obuh commended his boys for the victory, adding that his opponents were highly determined in the match.
Coach Osuji Joachim of Supreme Court FC said that inexperience cost them the game despite that his boys put in their best. He said that they will make up for the loss in subsequent games.
Kwara United FC will play Dream International FC of Makurdi in their next game in Ilorin.
