CCT trial: Saraki's lead Counsel absent, seeks adjournment

Date: 2016-04-05

The embattled President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, is at present at the Code of Conduct Tribunal in continuation of his case on failure to fully declare his assets.

Saraki's lead Counsel, Kanu Agbabi, on Tuesday was absent in court. However, another SAN, Paul Usoro, and Mahmud Magaji (SAN) stood in for Agabi.

As at press time, Usoro was making a case for the adjournment of the case. He premised his argument on the case filed by Saraki before the Court of Appeal.

In the case, Saraki is challenging the ruling of the CCT on his trial.

This will be the seventh times that Saraki will appear before the Code of Conduct Tribunal over alleged false assets declaration when he was the governor of Kwara State.
