The people of Jokoro in Bani ward of Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State have been admonished to always shun any act capable of hindering their future progress and development of the community.

The executive governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed who stated this while speaking through the Special Adviser on Emergency Management and Relief Service, Alhaji Abdullahi Duro Muhammed who was at the scene for an on the spot assessment, commiserated with the people over a recent fire disaster which destroyed farm produce worth millions of Naira.

According to him, the incident was pathetic and unfortunate, expressing worry over the level of destruction thereby urging the people of the community to accept the incident as an act of God and in good fate.

Duro urged the people of the community to continue to support the government of the day and pray God to give them the strength to recover all the losses. He promised that the state government will not relent in its efforts in ameliorating the suffering of the people and advised them to always be safety and security conscious at all times, saying that the disaster not inform anybody when it will occur.

Responding, the Jokoro of Jokoro Bani, Alhaji Abdulrauf Amole, Commended and thanked the State Government for demonstrating great concern over their plight while promising that the people of the area would continue to support the government of the day. He used the occasion to appreciate Almighty God and the people of the area who have assisted in controlling the situation and also thanked God that no life was lost in the inferno.

Meanwhile properties especially farm produce worth millions of Naira including yams, maize, Guinea corns, Soya beans, Millets, Yam flower popularly known as Elubo, Pepper among others were destroyed by the inferno.
