UITH resident doctors call off strike
The Association of Resident Doctors of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) has called off its strike over salary cut, and selective implementation of the Federal Government's circular for some health workers.
Dr Ade Faponle, President of the Association, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Ilorin that the strike was called off because of the intervention of the Federal Ministry of Health.
He said that most of the doctors' demands had been met, while the few issues remaining were being looked into.
Other demands of the resident doctors include the non-availability of electricity and shortage of water.
Faponle said that the doctors called off the 15-day strike, to save lives.
