Resource Managers Coop Society declares N7.5m net profit
The University of Ilorin Resource Managers Cooperative Society has declared a net profit of N7, 589,726.53 for the year 2015, an increase of N2, 369608 over the N5, 220,118.86 declared the previous year.
The immediate past Chairman of the Cooperative Society, Mr. M. J. Akanbi, disclosed this while giving his account of stewardship during the Society's Annual General Meeting (AGM) penultimate Wednesday (February 24, 2016).
Mr. Akanbi listed landed assets of the Society as well as other assets in his report and noted that the members increased from 228 in 2014 to 244 in 2015. New officers were elected at the AGM.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected President, Mr. Abdulrazak Bello, paid glowing tribute to the outgoing executive, saying, "Indeed, M. J. Akanbi and his crew are worthy of emulation. Even from the audit report and financial report of the association, one could say they are true resources managers as they have managed our resources well and have made a lot of sacrifices for the upliftment of this Society".
Speaking in the same vein in a chat with Unilorin Bulletin, after the AGM, the newly elected Secretary of the Cooperative Society, Mr. Murtala Oyinloye, noted that the achievement of the outgoing executive has no precedence in the annals of the cooperative society. He said that he regards his election as a great honour and privilege to be called in the service of such a noble and progressive association.
