11 indigent students receive free UTME forms in Kwara
No fewer than 11 students from Kwara South Senatorial District on Tuesday received free Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination forms from a Non-Governmental Organisation, Kwara South Youth Stakeholders Forum (KSYSF).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the UTME forms were distributed to the students by the forum in collaboration with OTJ Education Foundation. The foundation is owned by the State's Commissioner for Environment and Forestry, Otunba Taiwo Joseph.
Mr Yinka Dallas, leader of KSYSF, said the gesture was to complement the state government's rural education intervention initiative, aimed at improving students' academic performance, especially at the grassroots.
He said the gesture would also assist the parents of the beneficiaries and enable them to channel their resources to other pressing domestic needs.
The group leader said the beneficiaries cut across the seven local governments that made up of the senatorial district. Dallas urged the students to make the judicious use of the facility and excel in their examination.
He said the forum would not hesitate to identify and reward indigent students who demonstrate good and sound academic qualities in order to encourage them to do more.
The beneficiaries of the forms are: Taofeek Oladipo (Offa LGA); Temidayo Anifaoloja (Ekiti LGA); Fasanmi Kikelomo (Oke-Ero LGA); Nurain Afolabi (Ifelodun LGA); Idowu Esan (Ifelodun (LGA) and Waheed Shukurat (Ekiti LGA). Others are Alice Ajibade (Irepodun LGA); Adebowale Titilope (Isin LGA); Balogun Kazeem (Oyun LGA) and Dorcas Ajide (Ekiti LGA).
