Kwara Speaker hails nation's security gallantry, sacrifices

Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Dr Ali Ahmad, said Nigerians would forever be grateful and appreciate the gallantry and sacrifice of the nation's armed forces, especially at keeping Nigeria together inspite several challenges.

Ahmad in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Shuaib Abdulkadir to commemorate the Armed Forces Remembrance day, said the security outfits ?deserved every recognition it could get from both government and the citizens.

The speaker stated that Nigeria is blessed with officers and men of valour ?who have distinguished themselves at various times and prove their worth while on international assignments.

Therefore, he enjoined government and the public to always support the security personnel with ?everything required to enable them further succeed in the arduous task of securing the country.

said: "As we reflect back to remember th?eir gallantry, sacrifices, commitment, dedication and bravery in keeping Nigeria together as one, there is also the need to remember that several of them have laid their lives for this country to get to where we are presently.

"Therefore, the ultimate thing the armed forces could require from the citizens is to continually supporting them. Government must also not fail to provide them with incentives and ammunitions to enhance their services". SEE ALSO: Lawmakers urge FG to relocate Ilorin Prison The speaker sympathised with the families who have lost their beloved ones as well as several officers that have been injured in the course of serving their fatherland.

To this end, he challenged government, organisations and spirited individuals not to forget families left behind by the deceased officers and not abandon those who have been sustained various degree life threatening injuries while in active service.

Ahmad prayed Allah to be with the victims families, grant injured officers sound health and help in keeping the nation's territorial integrity.
