KWSG commiserates with fire victims
The Kwara State Government has sympathized with Mr. Saliu Tijani on the recent fire outbreak that gutted his four bedroom bungalow at Adewole housing estate.
The special Adviser on Emergency Management and Relief Service to the Governor Alhaji Abdulfatah Duro Mohammed who was on the spot assessment to Alhaji Saliu Tijani's house No 7 lesha street Adewole estate to ascertain the level of destruction, on behalf of the state government expressed deep concern with the victim of the disaster, and prayed for the affected victim over the unfortunate incident.
Alhaji Duro assured the victim that the state government through the office of Emergency and Relief Services would do something positive to ameliorate his sufferings in terms of moral or financial support.
The Special Adviser who also used the opportunity to advice and warned the public to always be safety conscious particularly now that we are in the dry season, promising to forward the case to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed for possible assistance from the state government.
Alhaji Duro, told the victim that he should consider the incident as an act of God and prayed that such incident would not occur again.
Responding Alhaji Salihu Tijani a retired prison officer said right now he is living on charity, saying that he lost everything that he had worked for thirty five years to fire.
Alhaji Tijani who said the cause of the fire was not known as nobody was cooking as at that time and there was no electricity. He thanked and appreciated the state government for their prompt response to his situation.
Similarly, the Special Adviser, Alhaji Duro also paid a similar visit to a storey building that was also gutted by fire along Basin-Zango road. The top floor of the storey building was completely burnt down.
The Special Adviser again appealed to the affected victims of the house to also consider the incident as an act of God and advised them to always be at alert especially against disaster, promising that the state government would come to their rescue by way of providing relief materials for succor.
One of the tenants Mr. Ayo Komolafe whose room the fire was first noticed appealed to the state government to come to their aid, as he had lost everything to the fire incident. The owner of the building was said to be late while his younger brother who was the caretaker was not available for comments.
