Kwara asks for partnership on quality health
The Kwara State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed has called on private organisations to complement the government's efforts in bringing quality health care to the people.
The governor made the call while flagging off the MTN Foundation Eyeris Project, a programme aimed at saving sight of people.
Governor Ahmed commended the Foundation for the project and encouraged other private organisations to emulate it in discharging their social responsibilities to the people.
He also called on the people of the state 'to avail themselves the opportunity provided by the Foundation to save their sight.'
The Permanent Secretary, Kwara State Ministry of Health, Raufu Ayinla says "the approval of the project by the State Government is an attestation that the government caters for the healthcare of people of the State."
In his remarks, representative of the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Mr. Austine Iyashere said the project, aimed at treating over 6000 patients with eye problem was one of the health projects of the foundation.
The programme was held at the Sobi Specialist Hospital, Ilorin.
