Saraki to Ahmed: I am very proud of your achievements
In what appears a vote of confidence on the Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed-led administration in Kwara State within the last one year, his predecessor and Senator representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has identified himself with the giant strides of the administration.
Saraki particularly acknowledged Ahmed's administrative acumen, which has culminated in capital projects that have direct bearing on the lives of the citizenry.
This, the senator believed, was an indication that the seed of continuity so-wed before he left office in May 29, 2011, has begun, to germinate and bear fruits of good governance for Kwarans.
In his congratulatory message to the governor, he simply enthused: "I am very proud of your achievements in the last one year, thanks for keep ing the flag flying"
It would be recalled that the former governor had assured Kwarans on different occasions that his successor would not let them down.
One of such occasions was the last people Democratic Party (PDP) State Congress held in Ilorin, where Saraki said the Supreme Court verdict upholding Governor Ahmed's election was a reflection of the wish of Kwarans because, according to him, they believe in the PDP.
He said "for those who did not want to accept the wish of the people and hoped that the miracle would cone from the judiciary, this is the time for you to come and join us".
Saraki, who is also the Chairman, Senate Committee on Environment and Ecology noted, "for those of you who have been deceived that one magic was going to happen from Abuja, it is time for you to wake up...
"For those who have been deceiving you, I am sure you don't see them here again anymore; the only person you will be seeing is the Governor in government that -will continue to look after you. Whether you are in PDF or not, you are our brothers and sisters."
He added: "For the youth,, I keep on saying, don't let anybody deceive you that they are coming to make any change or effect any change in Kwara. We know the states that they lead. Let them change those states first."
