Senate Presidency: Kwara group supports Saraki

Date: 2015-05-16

Kwara North Grassroot Solidarity Forum has enlisted its support for the Senate president ambition of Senator Bukola Saraki describing him as one of the pillars that sustained the present democracy in Nigeria.

Kwara North Grassroot Forum comprises of the entire members of Yoruba Non-speaking people in Kwara North and suburbs of Kwara central (Ilorin) in the state.

The clamour for Saraki which is contained in a press statement issued by its president, Alh Ndanusa Kawu Adam, made available to journalists in Ilorin on Thursday also stated that in the interest of fairness and justice, the new PDP faction of APC in which Senator Bukola Saraki is a strong factor should be allowed to fill the position of the senate president since the CPC and ACN have occupied the positions of president and vice president respectively.

According to the statement," It Is very important to also let the ill-campigners realised that the movement of the then PDP Governors, Senators, and House of Representatives members to merge with APC was masterminded by the Scion of late Waziri of Ilorin. "

"This actually led to the success of the newly formed mega party (APC) to win majority positions and the presidency in the last general elections."

"However, it must be noted that all parties that formed the merger had benefited in the arrangement except the new PDP group. It is a known fact" The Forum's president who is also the Assistant Director of Youth,Mandate 2015 also reminded Nigerians how Senator Bukola Saraki greatly contributed to the nation Building, as one among the Pillars that sustained Nigeria during and after the incapacitation of late Nigerian President ; Alhaji Umaru Ya''Adua.

" At that period, his Leadership style as the Chairman Nigerian Governors forum portrayed a lot of Peace amongst the Governors and Harmony within the Forum irrespective of Political Parties of the Governors.

The Forum was absolutely crises free and was able to promote Security of lives and properties to Nigerian People,"added the statement.

The forum also stated that,"In the outgoing National Assembly, Senator Bukola Saraki played prominent roles to champion judicious Appropriation and Regulation of Nigerian resources to save Nigerian Economy from comatose."

"He sponsored a bill that exposed most fraudulent activities in the oil sector disguised under the so called "Subsidy"which eventually became an eye-opener to most Nigerians who are neophytes or lack knowledge about how Nigeria economy is being managed."

"This singular action forced the Nigerian government to introduce the SURE - P Programme to enable Nigerians benefit from the National Cake."

The Kwara North Grassroot Solidarity Forum also condemned the political moves to scuttle the present political ambition of Senator Bukola Saraki saying that its dangerous.

The statement reads in part" We see the moves by some selfish Nigerians destroying our son as ungodly acts and desperate move to destroy the recent process that brought the real change which all Nigerians have been glamouring and happy to achieved, because of the personal interest and ego in attempt to dominate the entire nation under a single person's pocket."

"This act is absurd and highly dangerous to our nascent democracy, we are all saying no to high handedness, especially at this period when Nigeria is moving towards experiencing new administrative era."
