Damilola Anthony, a business administration graduate from Kwara State Polytechnic, decided to venture into bead making business when she couldn't secure any government job after graduation.

She learnt the whole package of bead making which includes necklace; bags and clutch bags; bangles; sandals and other accessories.

Speaking to LEADERSHIP, Anthony said: "After I graduated from Kwara State Polytechnic, where I studied business administration, I decided to go into bead making business because when I couldn't get a government job."

peaking on her motivation for the venture, she said the art of bead making is an interesting venture because it gives people the liberty to come up with their own innovations and inventions. She, however, said creativity is required to make it in the business.

"My husband was also a huge encouragement because he encouraged me after we got married to fully take up the business. I started with bead making but I also learnt how to make bags and shoes along the line," she stated.

Listing her major challenge in the business, Anthony said, that like every other business venture, the main challenge in bead making is finance, saying she lacks the requisite fund for expansion.

She said: "Finance is a major challenge. I want to expand the business by buying materials and other things that would boost the business but the money is not there for now. My husband has been very supportive, he got me a place to run the business and things are getting better because people are showing interest in what I do."
