Kwara workers endorse Governor Ahmed
Workers in Kwara under the auspices of Joint Labour Congress have endorsed the State Governor and All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed for April 11 election.
This is contained in a joint statement signed on Wednesday in Ilorin by the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Akanbi Umar Farouq, Chairman of the Trade Union Congress, Olumoh Kolawole and Chairman of the Joint Negotiation Council, Kehinde Kolawole.
They declared that Governor Ahmed's administration has being workers' friendly since he assumed office, hence their decision to support his re-election.
The workers listed 31-point achievements of the Ahmed administration in the promotion of workers' welfare.

They said Ahmed's achievements include the implementation of N18,000 minimum wage from August 2011 to workers and pensioners; prompt payment of salary on or before the 25th of every month to civil servants.?
Other achievements of the governor, according to the workers, included training and retraining of civil servants.
The workers also listed downward review of 'Pay as You Earn' (PAYE), which was implemented during the minimum wage implementation by about 38 per cent.
According to the union leaders, Governor Ahmed has done his best for workers despite the dwindling resources.
