Omotosho promises participatory governance
The gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party in Kwara State Western Nigeria, Doctor Mike Omotosho says his administration will focus on infra-structural renewal, agricultural development and youth empowerment.
According to Doctor Omotosho; "it is high time the people of Kwara begin to really benefit from the dividends of democracy so as to enable them live a better life."
He envisioned a Kwara that would be the haven for foreign investors, where the health of the people would be the priority and education would be revitalised.
He bemoaned the slow pace of development in the state, saying his administration remains committed to boosting the income generation capacity of the state, which according to him would further drive the developmental process.
Politics not based on selfish interest
The Labour gubernatorial candidate said his venturing into politics was not based on selfish interest, but to further impact positively on the well being of the people.
He debunked the claim that he had stepped down for any candidate in the gubernatorial race, stressing that he remains committed to vying for the office so as to bring the needed alternative and progressive governance to bear.
Doctor Mike expressed optimism of emerging the winner in the forthcoming elections and urged the electoral umpire to address the hitches in the presidential elections so as to further encourage the people to come out enmasse.
