Saraki mourns Monarch
"I will miss his wise counsel, generous disposition and expression of love".
In those words, Dr. Saraki mourned the death of the foremost First Class traditional ruler, whose death he described as a great loss to the State and the country at large.
In a condolence message to the late monarch’s family and the entire people of Kaiama, Saraki said: "On behalf of the government and people of Kwara State, I express my heartfelt condolence to the family of the distinguished monarch, patriot and statesman".
Dr. Saraki, who also described the 37 years reign of the Emir as monumental and peaceful, noted that his demise has no doubt created a big vacuum that will be difficult to fill in a hurry.
He prayed that the traditional ruler’s soul rest in peace and that Almighty Allah grants every member of the family the fortitude to bear the loss and the wisdom to sustain his worthy legacy.
Alhaji Omar joined his ancestors on Sunday at the age of 88 years.
