Kwara United defeated Wikki Tourist 1-0 in Wednesday third place match of the Nigeria National League Super Four tournament in Ilorin.

Ahmed Jimoh's solitary goal ensured the Afonja Warriors got their anticipated consoling victory in the four-team football event played at the Kwara Township Stadium.

Kwara who lost out 2-1 in the semi-final against Shooting Stars, evidently showing lack of fitness failed to produce the essential brilliance to score against their wasteful opponents Wikki who underused their several chances in front of goal.

The first half period ended in a scoreless draw as the two only did little in creating chances for goal but the visitors from Bauchi did dominate possession for most period of the encounter.

In the second half, the Tunde Abdulrahman's side showed ambitions to console their disappointed fans, but the Abdul Maikaba's men held on until the 78th minute when Jimoh snatched the winner for Kwara United.
