PDP, APC urge INEC to conduct by-election in Kwara
The All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People's Democratic Party (PDP) have urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to go ahead with the January 17 by-election into the vacant seat in the Kwara State House of Assembly.
The two leading political parties in the state, which boasted of their victories, said the by-election would serve as a testing ground and a signal ahead the general elections in February.
The INEC is expected to conduct a by-election into the vacant Kaiama/Kemanji/Wajibe state constituency's seat at the House of Assembly.
The by-election was as a result of the death of the representative, Idris Haliru, who died in Ilorin on June 7, 2014 during a protracted illness.
