Jani Ibrahim pledges to work with SS Ajibola
A PDP governorship aspirant in Kwara, Mr Jani Ibrahim, has described Sen. Sule Ajibola’s victory in the primary election as a victory for democracy in the state.
Ibrahim said this on Friday in a congratulatory message to Ajibola in the aftermath of the just-concluded PDP governorship primaries.
According to Ibrahim, "this is a hard-won victory; it is victory for democracy, due process and transparency. It is also victory for all of us who cherish freedom of choice’’.
"On behalf of my family and the Jani Ibrahim Campaign Organisation, I warmly congratulate my brother, Sen. Simeon Ajibola, on his emergence as the flag-bearer of our great party for the 2015 governorship election,” he added.
He declared to always remain committed to the process of positive change in the state.
"I use this opportunity to re-affirm my commitment to the process of change in Kwara and the victory of PDP in the 2015 general elections,” he said.
Ibrahim appealed to all other contestants and party members to close ranks, plan and work together and match toward victory in 2015.
"I offer my hand of co-operation and support to the Distinguished Senator and all PDP candidates who emerged in the recent primary elections,” he said.
Another member of the party, Mr Olutola Onijala, commended the courage of Ajibola in spearheading freedom for Kwara.
Onijala, who was a delegate, commended Ajibola for standing firm and refusing to defect to another party with the former PDP leaders in the state.
"I congratulate and rejoice with you for your emergence is a clear manifestation of divine reward for standing firm with the people rather than for self aggrandisement,” he said.
Onijala advised the PDP flag bearer not to rest on his oars until the party got to the government house.
"I want to say that it is not yet over until May 29, 2015 when you will invite us all to cling classes with you in the government house,” he said.
Onijala pledged to work for the governorship candidate and all other PDP candidates to ensure victory at the polls.
