Insurgency: Kwara To Evacuate Students From Adamawa

The Kwara State government is to evacuate students of the state origin studying in Adamawa State's tertiary institutions.

The senior special assistance to the governor on media, Dr Femi Akorede said government has concluded arrangements to evacuate the students from the troubled North- East state.

He said, "The governor has resolved to evacuate all students from Adamawa for their safety pending when the situation would return to normalcy.

"You will recall that the state government embarked on similar exercise when there were issues of insecurity in Borno and Kaduna states. So, all is set for the evacuation of our students who are studying in Adamawa State University and Federal Polytechnic, Mubi," he added.

He, however could not state categorically when the evacuation will commence.

Adamawa State has in recent times been under attacks by the Boko Haram insurgents.
