Makanjuola eyes Senatorial seat

Date: 2014-10-19

A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Gbenga Makanjuola, has indicated interest to represent the people of Kwara South Senatorial District at the National Assembly in the next general elections.

Makanjuola said he collected the nomination form to contest for Senate under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in order to ensure qualitative representation.

The ex-lawmaker, who spoke with The Herald reporter shortly after obtaining the nomination form, said he was ready to serve his people better than he did at the House of Representatives.

The youth coordinator in Irepodun Local Government, Mr. Muyiwa Oladipo said all the youth and stakeholders of the APC had endorsed the aspiration of Makanjuola because he was a tested and trusted man.

He said Makanjuola was endorsed because he had given qualitative representation to the people of the constituency when he was at the House of Representatives between 2003 to 2011.
