Former Kwara State commissioner for lands and housing, Architect Kale Belgore, has joined the race for the governorship ticket of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Belgore is a cousin to Mr. Dele Belgore, who was the candidate of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in the 2011 election.

Architect Belgore's entry into the race has swelled the list of aspirants itching to secure the PDP ticket.

No fewer than 12 aspirants have indicated interest in flying the PDP ticket. Architect Belgore, who was the PDP campaign Director-General in 2002/2003, told newsmen in Ilorin that he joined the race to salvage the state from its present predicament.

He, however, said the multiplicity of aspirants in the PDP would not create animosity, assuring that other aspirants would queue behind whoever emerged as candidate.

"Four years ago, Professor Oba Abdulraheem ran the PDP campaign for the incumbent governor, Senator Ajadi ran the campaign from Kwara South, Alhaji Oba Ajara ran for Kwara Central, Alhaji Ndakene ran from Kwara North and all these people are in PDP and apart from that,the electorate identifies with PDP", he said.
