CAS reject Giwa appeal against FIFA
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) have rejected an appeal from a group of officials supporting Chris Giwa demanding that FIFA be restrained from banning Nigeria.
The group of eight led by Obinna Ogba filed an appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport to restrain FIFA from suspending the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in the event that persons claiming to be elected and occupying the offices of the NFF had failed to vacate their offices at the NFF by 8 September 2014, 8.00am Swiss time.
"The Appellants' request for provisional measures was rejected by CAS since it was without object at this stage," announced CAS.
The appellants, according to CAS, are Yahaya Adama (Kogi FA chairman), Obinna Ogba (Ebonyi chairman), Musa Talle (FCT), Effiong Johnson (Akwa Ibom chairman), Chidi Ofor Okenwa (Enugu FA chairman), Busari Ishola (Kwara FA chairman), Mohhammed Saidu (Katsina FA) and Tijani Jubril, whose identity as an FA chairman has been questioned.
