Date: 2014-07-10

The Kwara Government said yesterday that it would complete all ongoing roads projects and culverts across the three senatorial districts of the state by December 2014.

The Commissioner for Works and Transport, Dr Abubukar Kannike, made this known when he inspected some ongoing roads projects in llorin.

Kannike, who described good road network as one of the indices that aid development, said the state government was making effort to ensure completion of all ongoing projects by December.

p>He urged the contractors to execute the projects on schedule and according to specifications, and warned that the government would not pay contractors who carry out shoddy jobs.

The Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the pace of work on some of the roads, and urged the contractors to sustain the tempo.

The Commissioner appealed to residents living near road construction sites to exercise patience and cooperate with the contractors to ensure durability of the roads.

He inspected the Coca cola Road, Omosebi, Safura Junction and Okelele Road, in llorin.
