Kwara Appoints Monarch As Amirul-Hajj

Kwara State Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed has approved the appointment of Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, Oba Sikiru Atanda Oladolu Sanni as the state Amirul-Hajj for 2014.

The monarch's appointment as Amirul-Hajj was contained in a statement issued from the office of the secretary to the state government, Alhaji Isiaka Gold and signed by the permanent secretary, General Service, Alh. Muritala Shehu.

The statement stressed that the appointment is a call to duty which demands absolute dedication, sacrifice, perseverance and commitment.

It noted that Oba Sanni is naturally endowed with the good character traits which marked him out as one of the most respectable and foremost monarchs in the state.

It added that "it is His Excellency's wish and desire that Oba Sanni will bring these sterling leadership qualities to bear on this assignment to justify the confidence reposed in him."
