The National Agency for Food, Drugs, Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has devised a Mobile Authentication Service to detect fake drugs.

Kwara State Director of the agency, Mrs. Abayomi Bolaji-Juliana, said the device is being deployed as part of the agency's fight against fake drugs and to ascertain authentication of products.

She stated this yesterday during a courtesy visit to the state Broadcasting Corporation, Radio Kwara, warning the public against consumption of fake drugs and unwholesome products in the country.

Bolaji-Juliana also advised members of the public to always check the date markings of products, the manufacturing and expiry dates, names and addresses of companies to guarantee their efficacy.

The state Director of the agency urged members of the public against patronising drug hawkers, but registered patient medicine stores, just as she called them to inform the agency of any illegal company for prompt action.

She assured of the determination of the agency to regulate products and safeguard the health of the people.
