Kwara Poly registers students for NHIS - Elelu
All full-time students of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, now have access to quality healthcare services through registration in the National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS, the Rector, Mas’hud Elelu, has
said.
Mr. Elelu said on Monday in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, that this was part of the institution’s effort to improve students’ welfare and ensure they had a conducive environment for learning.
He said that the students can access NHIS services anywhere in the country once they present their students’ identity cards.
Mr. Elelu, however, said that only regular or full-time students could benefit from the NHIS, adding that the scheme does not cover part-time students.
He said that the institution has purchased a new ambulance and also equipped its clinic to ensure better healthcare service delivery for the students.
He appealed to well-meaning individuals and corporate organisations to assist the polytechnic by providing hostels on campus to ease students’ accommodation problem.
He pledged that the institution would continue to relate well with its host community by involving the people in its activities.
