Golden Eaglets enjoy great reception in Ilorin
Fans who were at the Kwara Stadium Complex for the usual Sunday walk-out troop en mass and milled around the national team immediately their Marcopolo Bus 'taxied' to a stop for the early morning game against Kwara Football Academy.
The fans' restiveness is understandable since the Eaglets' travelling party has two Kwara Football Academy's striker Kehinde Ayinde and left-full back, Kola Gbadamosi -both were hailed as they stepped off the boss.
"These boys are even younger than the last Under-17 team," a fan was overheard. "I like this team and we are going to pray for their success."
Expectedly, the highest ovation was reserved for Golden Eaglets chief coach, Emmanuel Amuneke as the shout of 'Amuneke! Amuneke!! Amuneke!!!' was rendered amidst applause.
Some fans erroneously mistaken Eaglets new find, goalkeeper Benjamin Amos for 2013 FIFA Under-17 World Cup Best Goalkeeper, Dele Alampasu: "That is Alampasu; yes I'm sure."
Meanwhile, the Golden Eaglets' 'moving train' would depart Ilorin for Lagos on Monday where they are to take on their counterparts from the Pepsi Football Academy at the Agege on Tuesday in their last build up match ahead of the WAFU B Under 17 Tournament to be held in Lome between April 19 and 27.
