Belgore defects to PDP in Kwara
The Kwara State governorship candidate for the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria in the 2011 election, Mr. Dele Belgore (SAN), on Wednesday announced his defection to the Peoples Democratic Party.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria, who was among the prominent rallying points of the All Progressives Congress in Kwara State, said he defected to PDP because of an alleged injustice metted to him and those that laboured to sustain APC in the state.
He added that it was unfair for the state's APC structure to be handed over to those he alleged had been 'oppressing' and impoverishing residents of the state.
He said it was undemocratic for the party structure to be handed over to those he referred to as new entrants without recourse or regard to old members of the party.
Belgore said he had exhuasted the channels for redress but all failed.
He called his supporters to join him and dislodge those he said were oppressing the people in the state.
Belgore stated that he would have have aformal defection, adding that his current action was just an announcement of his political direction.
