Union appeals to KWSG over improved salary scale
As part of measures to improve the conditions of its members, the Kwara State Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria has appealed to the state government to commence the implementation of the approved 50 per cent upward review salary structure for its members to discourage brain-drain in the state's health sector.
It also urged the state government to expeditiously release the payment of five months consolidated health salary structure arrears to health workers in the state Ministries of Health and Agriculture respectively.
A release signed by Comrade Muritala Saheed Olayinka, which was obtained by The Herald in Ilorin, said the call was imperative to boost the affected workers' morale at work.
It commended the state government through the Local Government Service Commission on the release of promotion letters for its affected members.
It appreciated the leadership role of the Special Adviser on Labour Matters, Comrade Bisi Fakayode, in sustaining labour friendly environment in the state.
The statement congratulated the council chairmen in the state on their assumption of office.
