Health stakeholders urge to improve campaign against its spread

Alhaji Tajudeen Zulu-Oloje, the Chairman of the IIorin West Local Government area of Kwara on Thursday called on stakeholders in Health sector to intensify effort on its campaign against the spread of HIV/AIDS in Nigeria.

The Chairman made the call while declaring open the campaign against HIV/AIDS organized by the Kwara state Agency for the control of HIV/AIDS in Ilorin, the state capital

He said rigorous campaign against the danger inherent in the disease by the stakeholders would surely lead to its reduction in all parts of the Country.

Zulu-Oloje who said the disease is prevalent among youth, implored health workers to work in tune with the health project target of the government, so as, to have zero record of the disease in the country.

The Chairman stressed the need for people to go for HIV test to ascertain their status, adding that, it would serve as check for further spread of the disease.

The Council Boss assured that the IIorin West Local Government council would continue to do its best to ensure that its health sector receive the desired attention.

He promised to work round the clock to reposition the sector to meet standard practice in the world.

In his remark, the Project Manager of the Kwara State Agency for the control of AIDS, Dr Johnson Oyeniyi urged the council to provide resources that would ensure the two point two percent reduction level of the disease in the north central.

He added that, it is only through collective approach that all round success can be achieved.

Oyeniyi advised people to demonstrate more care to the victims for them to have a sense of belonging in the society.

He reminded HIV/AIDS Victims that, it is through regular use of the right drugs that they could live normal life
