Father of the Peoples Democratic Party flag bearer for Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Sagaya, on Friday, told his son, Sherif, to protect the name of the family if elected into the National Assembly.

Sagaya, who is the son of the owner of the defunct Limca and Double Cola Bottling Company, Ilorin, late Sulyman Oba Sayaga, gave the warning when he visited the corporate Headquarters of National Pilot in Ilorin.

The older Sagaya, who expressed joy over his son’s aspiration to represent the constituency at the National Assembly, urged him to fulfill all his electioneering promises if given the mandate.

He said his family, according to him, is respected for uprightness and truthfulness and called on his son to uphold the tenet of sincerity if he becomes a Federal Lawmaker.

Sagaya, however, expressed optimism that his son would deliver on his electioneering promises and give the constituency a better representation if elected.

"I am happy that my son is vying for the House of Representatives’ seat on the platform of the People Democratic Party (PDP) and I wish him well in his aspiration to represent Ilorin West/Asa  Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.

"As a father, I have advised him on some issues as regard his political ambition and he is an obedient son, who listens to all my advice but the only thing I don’t dabble into is his business. I know, he has never disappointed us, but I want to advise him to protect our family name, which is known for uprightness and truthfulness," he said.
