Olofa tasks subjects on PVCs' collection

Date: 2015-01-20

The Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi, in Kwara, has appealed to the people of the state to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) to enable them to exercise their civic responsibility during elections.

The royal father made the appeal on Sunday in Offa while receiving Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State and his entourage during a campaign tour of the local government.

Oba Gbadamosi, however, assured the governor of the support of his chiefs and the people of the town at all times.

The Olofa described the administration of Gov. Ahmed as transparent and people’s friendly and had ``fulfilled all electoral promises to the good people''.

"My people are informed to understand the financial constraint of your administration. They know the limits and challenges of the administration," he said.

The Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government Traditional Council and Elese of Igbaja, Oba Amodu Babalola, said the performance of the governor in the last four years was commendable and noteworthy.

Babalola said this when the APC campaign train stopped over in his domain.

He said the governor had kept faith with the implementation of the programmes he promised the people in 2011.

At Oke-Ode, the traditional ruler, the Elesa, Oba Abdulkadir Akebiosu, promised that the people of the town would reward Gov. Ahmed with massive votes for the ``tremendous developmental projects in the town''.

He listed some of the achievements of the administration in the town to include the establishment of School of Nursing, road construction and the building of a new palace.
