LG poll: Kwara APC postpones primaries indefinitely
The All progressive Party (APC) in Kwara State has shifted its primaries for the local government election indefinitely.
The APC comprises the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the Congress of Progressive Change (CPC) and All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP). The primaries are expected to produce APC candidates for the August 31, 2013 local government election across the state except Offa.
A statement signed by Alhaji Suleiman Buhari (ACN), Mr. Sola Iji (CPC) and Alhaji Taiwo Eleja (ANPP) read: "This is to inform members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State that the party's primaries earlier scheduled for August 20,, 2013 have been postponed till further notice. "The postponement became necessary in order to allow for adequate preparations and wider consultations of all the stakeholders of the party."
