KWSG extends secondary school calendar by 2 weeks

The Kwara government has extended the current academic session for schools in the state to Friday August 9,to allow Senior Secondary School II students to write their promotion examinations.

Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed, Director, Quality Assurance Bureau of the Ministry for Education and Human Capital Development, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Ilorin that the session cold have ended on July 26.

According to him, principals of secondary schools in the 16 Local government councils should comply.

"Our ministry has called a meeting of principals in the state to ensure credibility for the upcoming mock examinations in the state for SSII students.

"Government will use the examination to measure performances for next year’s National Examinations Council (NECO) and SSCE examinations," he said
