KWSG releases N50m to pay bursary
The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Alhaji Aliyu Mohammed Lade who stated this yesterday in a press release, explained that the money was the balance of the N50million released to the State Scholarship Board last December.
He emphasized that hence-forth, the bursary allowance will be replaced with merit driven Scholarship awards for students with good grade, stressing that the new Scholarship Scheme is aimed at creating healthy Competitions among students of tertiary institutions to boost academic excellence in the state.
The Commissioner, who commended Governor Ahmed for the release o f the money, reiterated the State Government's commitment to the welfare of students and urged them to reciprocate the good gesture by facing their studies and avoiding unnecessary distractions that could affect their academic calendar.
