KWSG earmarks over N 632 million for developmental projects
The Kwara State Government has earmarked six hundred and thirty two million, five hundred and twenty-two thousand, two hundred and twenty-eight naira, ninety kobo for developmental projects across the Sixteen Local Governments in the state.
The State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Prince Tunji Moronfoye disclosed this while featuring on a Radio Kwara Interactive Programme, "The Platform".
According to him, some of the developmental projects are in the areas of Water, Health, Education, Road, Commerce and Drainages.
Others include Youth and Women Empowerment, Community Self Health Projects, Electrification and Agriculture.
Prince Moronfoye assured that the first phase of Kaiama-Kishi road would commence by the end of this month.
Prince Moronfoye noted that the State Government planed to rehabilitate additional five General Hospitals this year and assist ten Commercial Farmers in each Local Government to improve their livelihood in terms of food security in the state.
On Power Generation, the Commissioner expressed Government's readiness to create an Independent Power Plant, to complement the distribution of Power in the state.
Prince Moronfoye also reiterated Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed's readiness to ensure that Graduates of the State University (KWASU) Malete become job providers and not seekers, and to ensure that the state ranks first as employment provider across the country.
Callers on the programme called for the reduction in the State University (KWASU) School fees in the interest of the masses and to ensure quality of higher education.
They also urged the government to continue to provide the dividends of democracy for the people.
