The Kwara Assembly on Thursday, confirmed four nominees as Commissioners for the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWASIEC), sent to it by Gov. AbdulFatah Ahmed on Tuesday 26.

The confirmation was announced by the speaker, Mr Rasaq Atunwa after the screening of the nominees in an exercise that lasted for more than three hours.

The four commissioners are Alhaji AbdulRauf Ajao from IIorin West Local Government Area and Alhaji Ahmed Tejidini; IIorin West Local Government area.

Others are Mr Azeez Toye; Oyun Local Government Area As well as Alhaji Ishola Ajibade; Moro Local Government area.

The speaker directed the Clerk of the House, Mr Oyetunde Oyeniyi to write a letter to the Governor on the confirmation.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the Governor in his message, said that the nominees would fill the vacant positions in the Commission in line with section 198 of the 1999 Constitution.
